Description:

Evelyn Selestewa of Mishongnovi weaves a small burden or fruit basket. Close-up view of Evelyn's hands weaving with the commercial wefts going over 3 or 4 or even 5 natural qahavi (willow) warps. She adds willow strips as warps when she needs to lengthen them. A bundle of wefts and willow warps sits next to her waiting to be added to the basket. Scanned on a Nikon Supercool Scan 9000 at 4000 DPI. Photoshop was used to clean up dust specks via cloning and reformatted from TIFF to JPEG. Digitizing Technician: Michael William Jenkins.
