Margie Lonnie weaving a coiled plaque

Description:

Margie Lonnie of Mishongnovi begins to weave a coiled plaque. The mooho (yucca) strands that will form the center of each coil and give the plaque its rigidity can be seen sticking out to the right. In her hand she holds the yucca strand she coils around the bunch to shape the plaque. Dyed strands that have already been coiled can be seen and create the pattern of the plaque. Scanned on a Nikon Supercool Scan 9000 at 4000 DPI. Photoshop was used to clean up dust specks via cloning and reformatted from TIFF to JPEG. Digitizing Technician: Michael William Jenkins.
